Le Tour de France is coming to the Dales!

The Tour de France 'grand depart' is coming to the Dales in July 2014. The Foresters is ideally placed between the outward and return legs on stage 1. Click here for more information and here to see a map of the routes.

Community Pub

Rescued from the brink of closure in 2011, The Foresters Arms was purchased by the local community. The business is now operated on behalf of the shareholders by tenants Kimberley and Allan Brereton.

Welcome to the Foresters Arms Pub

The Foresters Arms is located in the picturesque village of Carlton in Coverdale in the North Yorkshire Dales nestled under the peaks of Roova Crags and Penhill.

 

Carlton is approxiamately six miles from Leyburn, within The Yorkshire Dales National Park, there are excellent walks in the beautiful countryside around Carlton, we are also on the Dales Cycle Route. You will find at The Foresters cosy open fires, oak beams, local cask ales and a quality menu with varied choice of specials. Excellent choice of wines, quality Sunday roast and ensuite accommodation.

We welcome dogs, we have disabled access and toilet facilities and we also have baby changing facilities

Le Tour de France Grand Depart Party Weekend!

Join us for the biggest sporting event to ever come to Yorkshire, come along and join in the planned events over the weekend. We’ll be open all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday with lots to do for everyone, we can’t offer you a route side view but we can offer good beer, food on offer all weekend and a party atmosphere.

We’ll be open for breakfast from 9am on Saturday and Sunday, with coffee, tea and ice creams available along with our outside bar open Saturday and Sunday from lunchtime..

Here is a run down of the weekend activities we have planned:

Friday 4th July
Open all day for early arrivals. Join in our cider event and Dance to DJ Norm from 8pm till late. Late supper available.

Saturday 5th July
Come along to our ‘Diners and Drive In’ style BBQ – hot pulled roast pork, sticky ribs and local flavoured sausages all on the BBQ, outside bar featuring Wensleydale beers, followed by ‘Beggars Bunce’ playing live from 8pm. Plenty to do for the children, treasure hunt, colouring competitions and ice cream………Of course watch the big event on the TV so you get a bird’s eye view of all the action – and how Yorkshire is showcased during the event.

Sunday 6th July
We’re holding our annual Charity Bed Push on Sunday at 2pm, get a team together or come along and watch the fun, all in aid this year of the West Scrafton Defibrillator and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, followed by a Quoits match at 4pm behind the Foresters Arms. Outside bar still available.


Don’t forget the Wimbledon Finals and World Cup Quarter finals this weekend too!

Why not pre book your breakfast or a bottle of Prosecco or Champagne to celebrate the big event!
